Cuaba
Cuaba cigars are packed with flavours of pepper spice and a deep rich tobacco flavour. Unique figuerado shape with taper at both ends doesn't add to the flavour but has an elegance that's pleasing to the eye.
Every Cuaba is made in the distinctive shape known as double figurado, the style that at the end of the 19th Century was all the rage for Habanos. A century later, in 1996, this rich tradition was revived at the Romeo y Julieta factory.
Double figurados are at the pinnacle of the cigar makers art and for this alone they merit a place in every cigar enthusiasts collection.
Cuaba, like Cohiba, is a Taino Indian word dating back to the time of Columbus. It was their name for a highly combustible bush, which the Indians used to light their cohibas.
All sizes contain a medium to full flavoured blend of filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo zone and are Tripa Larga, Totalmente a Mano long filler, totally hand made.
The Cuaba Distinguidos are perfect material for the novice double figurado smoker. Lighter in essence than most, the Distinguidos are manageable yet tasteful. Open wood and herbaceous aromas are easily detectable to the uninitiated palate leaving the focus on the time and rhythm of the vitola itself. That peanut flavour is ever present and that’s why we love Cuaba.
