Description
Filey Bay is the first single malt whisky made in, and of, Yorkshire. Why 'of Yorkshire'? Because it's created by us from field to bottle, here on the coast.
In June 2016, we ran the stills for the first time and filled our first casks. Filey Bay First Release was bottled in September 2019 and since then Filey Bay has grown and prospered.
For the fourth of our annual autumn/winter Sherry Cask Reserve series, Whisky Director Joe married together three cask types from the warehouse. Ex-Moscatel casks bring floral softness, ex-Oloroso casks add nutty complexity, and the ex-PX casks round it off with rich sweetness.
Together they create a whisky that showcases both classic sherry maturation but also candied notes and rich warming flavours which are perfect for the winter months. Only 2000 bottles.
